The following features may be provided to improve your security and
safety:
Emergency Call System/Careline
This system enables you to summon help in the event of an emergency.
Call points are usually in the living room and bathroom. If you
activate the alarm then a call will go through to the Lodge Manager
(if on duty) or to a monitoring centre. The alarm can be activated
at any time of the day or night.
Your Lodge/Development may be covered by Careline. This is a 24 hour emergency monitoring centre operated by Cirrus Communication System Limited. Careline is easy to use and an alarm call is made from your home by activating any one of the emergency call points or via a pendant or the button on the bath panel. Once you have activated the system you will be in voice contact with the control room where staff will offer assistance.
On some Lodge/Developments, the monitoring centre can also monitor the smoke detectors in your home and the communal areas and are able to summon the Fire Brigade. Also, in some Lodge/Developments intruder alarms are fitted to ground and first floor apartments and these are also covered by the monitoring centre.
When an emergency call has been responded to it is important to wait until the Careline operator has finished speaking before you respond. Careline may call either your Lodge Manager, your Doctor, the Emergency Services, or any personal contacts you may have provided if required.
If you activate the system by accident you must always acknowledge the control room staff when they ask if you require assistance; if they get no response they will assume that a real emergency has happened and will always take action.
